Beer bar This is one of my fav bars it is like my local away from home. Towards the 2nd Road end of Soi 8 across from the U2 bar. Again a mixed bag with the girls but is made up for by the friendliness of everyone in the bar. The toilets are shared with the bar next door and are mixed clean but will cost 5 bht. I find it a great bar for me what counts is the staff and how friendly they are well worth a visit anytime of night/morning ![]() |

"Beer bar December 2005: I sit down and ask the lady how much is a Chang Beer, not noticing that the prices are all posted on the wall (40 baht I think). She mistakenly tries to sell me 2 beers. I say I only want one. She gets all pissy and says something to the cashier, who points at me and says something in Thai followed by "Stupid Falang". Then the bartender says I should buy her a LD since I screwed up the order. Then another girl frowns at me when I smile at her. This is not going well. I immediately check bin and a different girl asks, "What wrong?" I explain to her that I'm from Las Vegas and I make tips for a living and I usually tip well, but since none of the Sailor Bar staff seem happy to have me there, I'm leaving after I drink my beer, UNLESS someone does something to change my mind. This girl immediately took it upon herself to entertain me by dancing around and generally schmoozing for the next hour. Things took a turn for the better, some different server girls appeared who were fun, the electricity even went out at one point and they lit candles for our drinking pleasure. I had two more beers and bought a LD for her, then tipped her 100 baht. I will return." |

German Restaurant November 2005: I was rather suckered into this one thinking that I could partake in locally brewed Weisenbier. However the 'brau' or brewery part of the bar seemed to be down or defunct. There were a couple of imported bottles available but it was a pretty naff selection and was very pricy. The aircon was deficient too which made for a pretty brief meal. A bit of a shame as the food was very good. The inside restaurant is free of hostesses but in the front beer garden there is a small bar that is staffed by ladyboys |

"Beer bar The owner reports about the trials and tribulations of running a bar on Pattaya Talk under the board name Hammer. March 2006: Hammer seems a very popular host, many reports of useful assistance to newbies and the bar is well established as the meeting/starting point of many a Pattaya bar crawl. The bar seems lively and successful enough probably assisted by visitors from PattayaTalk. Certainly overshadows neighbouring bars." ![]() |

Decent 70's/80's music, friendly staff and a decent bunch of lads, both holiday makers and expats. No air con, sorry but plenty of fans and a good view of the nightly parade up and down the soi!!" |

Golden Time Beer BarBeach Road:

"My favourite beer bar. Review April 2006: More Golden Times The lively owner and manageress, Fon (pictured centre), seems to put more effort into welcoming the customers than most nearby bars. The bar is always popular as a result. Golden Time has now expanded into the next door bar which was always relatively quiet. One of the features of the Golden Time is the chrome pole which is used for occasional dancing and also for a climbing challenge. The fit and athletic are invited to climb the poll and write their name on the ceiling. I am sure there are suitable rewards for success and penalties for failure." ![]() ![]() |

"Short time bar with about 30 girls. Jan 2005: The Harley bar is big. It looks like an old fashioned Western themed bar you might see in Arizona. They have 3 or 4 pool tables in the back. If you decide to take a girl, there is a 150 baht bar fine and 200 baht for a ST room in the hotel. The rooms are nice since it is a relatively new hotel. Red silk sheets. I asked the girl how much and she asked me why I was asking and then quoted 1000 Baht (going rate is 700). They had some good looking girls though July 2004: Suffered the uninvited and ego sapping attractions of the oldest woman in the bar who would not go away even when given the cold shoulder treatment. Only option is to leave. Why on earth do the managers allow this to happen. Never again...even though it is my local short time bar." ![]() |

"Beer bar December 2005: Bottled for a Disputed Bar Tab From Pattaya Talk I rang the bell upon arrival at the bar, around 2030. When the slips are placed in my bin I always immediately look them over. I can count too, and there was 2 drinks extra for 150 baht on the white slip Asked what for and the cashier told me for Buddha. Around 0200ish or so something happened that opened my eyes to a whole new meaning to" sisterhood" with the girls here. A farang with a rather disheveled appearance, was sitting with some of the ladies at the tables by the soi. Well an argument ensured between the farang and a bar girl. From what I could glean out of the Thai and english cursing the farang was refusing to pay for his drinks for some reason. My girl took an empty 2 liter glass Coke bottle and held it behind her back. One of the girls also put a box of empty bottles up on the bar and several of the TG's armed themselves, hiding them behind their backs as well. Mama and the cashier, convinced the farang to move on. ![]() |

"Beer bar November 2005: AT the early hour of 8pm the bar seemed well stocked with pretty girls. Presumably they will get depleted rapidly as the night rolls on. Possibly the 'Premier' is a reference to the Premier League, particularly as the bar was showing an Everton match when I visited. I have a feeling that any fan would prefer to listen to the commentary though, which was pretty nigh on impossible. A band playing Shadows numbers seemed to be top of the cacophony table." ![]() |

Beer Bar The sign reads U2 but the bar also has signs for the Ye Olde Oak which is the name of the associated restaurant. Review June 2006: A Pleasant Break The bar is British owned and features a large TV screen for the football and a pool table towards the back of the bar. Service was good and there are a few girls on hand for a chat. A pleasant break from some of the noisier and crazier bars nearby ![]() |

" Beer bar with music Review from Pattaya Chat, May 2006: Sanuck I've tended to use "We are the World Bar" as somewhere to go with a girl on the way back to hotel, the live music does make a big difference and I think that it is that that attracts many. The beer is also fairly cheap and it's a very laid back and friendly place; I've had much sanuck with the staff there. You don't get much hassles for lady drinks either but company is immediately available if you want it. Can also get food right outside from the passing Beach Road travelling caterers and the staff don't mind you eating in the bar, though it's even better to share some with them December 2005: Cheap beer and some decent looking girls at night. The daytime crew leaves a bit to be desired in the looks department, but sanuk mak at night. November 2005: Managed by Tian. He also runs the Eagle Bar, the World Wide A GoGo and the World Wide Bar. A nice bar to take a Thai girl as they love to watch rather than just listen and the music there is not bad, with 3 good singers. All serve 50 baht Hieneken" ![]() |
